Job Description:
The Baronial Deputy Rapier Marshal plays a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing rapier combat activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a sense of camaraderie within our barony’s rapier community. This position offers a unique opportunity for rapier enthusiasts to share their passion and expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of rapier combat events, practices, and tournaments.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure all rapier activities comply with SCA regulations.
- Organize and participate in rapier classes and workshops to educate and train new fencers.
- Collaborate with the Baronial Rapier Marshal and other officers to enhance the overall rapier combat experience.
- Maintain rapier equipment and assist in equipment inspections.
Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for rapier combat and historical accuracy.
- Proficiency in rapier combat and a strong understanding of safety practices.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with fencers of all skill levels.
- Willingness to learn and assist in coordinating rapier events.
- Familiarity with SCA customs and regulations related to rapier combat is advantageous, but not required.
